This pilot project aims to gain a better understanding of the experiences of Black students with Philosophy and, more specifically explore why they remain under-represented in the discipline of Philosophy.
This pilot project is an important preliminary step for this work.
It will allow the research team not only to consider how to introduce Philosophy to Black students in ways that are informed by culturally relevant pedagogies.
This project will gather information from:
- Black high school students in the Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB)
- High School Philosophy Teachers in Ontario
- University Philosophy Professors in Ontario
- Black University Students (any discipline) in Ontario
- Any university student enrolled in a Major or Minor in Philosophy in Ontario
